  • Academic Search Complete - This comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database accesses more than 7,400 full-text periodicals, including more than 6,300 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 11,500 journals and a total of more than 12,000 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, etc. User Tutorial
  • Nexis Uni - Includes access to over 5,600 news, business, legal, medical and reference publications (most full-text, the rest abstracted), primarily newspapers, magazines and journals. Covers local, regional and international newspapers (in English and non-English languages). Includes broadcast transcripts, case law, legal codes, regulations, Shepard's Citations to Supreme Court cases (back to 1789), company financial information, and SEC filings and reports.
  • Gale’s Academic OneFile - This database contains over 12,000 journals and reference sources, many of which are peer-reviewed and full text. It has extensive coverage of the physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and more. The database also contains some full text titles that are cited in databases such as AGRICOLA, CINAHL, EconLit, ERIC, MEDLINE, MLA International Bibliography, PsycINFO and others.
  • Gale’s General OneFile - This general periodical database contains over 12,000 periodicals, newspapers, reference books and multimedia sources, over half of which are full text. The backfile extends nearly 30 years. Subjects include humanities, education, environmental issues, technology, health care, politics and more.
  • Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center - Locate information that’s needed to fully understand an issue: pro and con viewpoint articles, reference articles that provide context, full-text magazines, academic journals, and newspapers, primary source documents, government and organizational statistics, multimedia, including images and podcasts, links to hand-selected web sites.
  • ProQuest Central Essentials - ProQuest Central Essentials provides comprehensive, full-text, periodical coverage from 12 complete ProQuest databases, including Research Library and US Newsstream. These curated databases are focused on science, technology, business, health, religion, arts, literature, humanities, social sciences, and education. The top national and regional US newspapers and newswires are available alongside academic and professional journals, consumer magazines, blogs, and reports.
  • JSTOR: Arts & Sciences I and II - Locate core journals in economics, history, political science, and sociology, as well as in other key fields in the humanities and social sciences. This collection also contains titles in ecology, mathematics, and statistics. Overall, there are 243 titles in 20 disciplines. 
  • Directory of Open Access Journals - This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. Its aim is to cover all subjects and languages.
  • Infoshare - Locate: local, State, and National data describing population, health, and socio-economic conditions. Infoshare can give you information on a wide variety of geographic areas, and it allows you to tabulate this data in tables of your own choosing.

  • ABI/INFORM Dateline - Search a unique resource focusing on hard-to-find local and regional business news coverage of large corporations, privately held companies, local start-ups, executive profiles, marketing, finance, and industry news. Provides access to business information not typically found in national news sources. Contains news and analysis, information on local markets, and more gathered from major business tabloids, magazines, daily newspapers, wire services, and city, state, and regional business publications.
  • ABI/INFORM Global - Most scholarly and comprehensive way to explore and understand business research topics.   • ABI/INFORM Trade & Industry - Search more than 1,200 business periodicals and newsletters with a trade or industry focus. Contains publications on every major industry, including finance, insurance, transportation, construction, and many more.
  • Barron's - A weekly publication for investors. Provides in-depth articles examining companies and industries to spotlight possible investment opportunities.
  • Business Source Premier - Provides full text for more than 2,300 journals, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed titles. Business Source Premier is superior to the competition in full text coverage in all disciplines of business, including marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance, and economics.
  • Wall Street Journal - The financial newspaper of record offering in-depth coverage of national and international finance as well as first-rate coverage of hard news.
  • Regional Business News - This database provides comprehensive full text coverage for regional business publications. Regional Business News incorporates coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United States. This database is updated on a daily basis.
  • Business Insights: Essentials - Includes company profiles, brand information, company histories, SEC reports, periodical articles, and links to relevant Web sites.
  • Morningstar Investment Research Center - An online investment database with information on more than 30,000 stocks, mutual funds, and exchange-traded funds. Designed specifically for libraries and other academic research institutions, it provides independent analysis, industry information, stock charts, portfolio and building tools.
  • Business Economics and Theory - Provides access to academic journals and magazines focusing on topics in economics and related fields. The database has an emphasis on titles indexed in the American Economic Association's EconLit bibliography.

History

  • Cambridge Histories Online - Contains over 250 volumes published since 1960. Beneficial for anyone researching or studying a subject that has an historical element.
  • US History Collection - Provides access to scholarly journals and magazines useful to both novice historians as well as advanced academic researchers. The database offers balanced coverage of events in U.S. history and scholarly work being established in the field.

  • Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition - This database provides nearly 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines.   • Health Reference Center Academic - This health database includes over 2800 journals and magazines, many of which are full text. It contains nursing and allied health journals, other medical journals, newsletters and consumer health magazines.
  • MEDLINE - Provides authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and much more. Created by the National Library of Medicine, MEDLINE uses MeSH (Medical Subject Headings) indexing with tree, tree hierarchy, subheadings, and explosion capabilities to search citations from more than 4,800 current biomedical journals.
  • ProQuest Health Management - Find complete, full-text information from leading publications covering all aspects of health administration, including public health and safety, hospitals, finance, personnel management, insurance, population studies, labor relations, and law.
  • National Library of Medicine - Search NLM’s database and electronic resources.
  • PLoSMedicine - Search an open-access, peer-reviewed medical journal published monthly online by the Public Library of Science.

Art

  • Fine Arts and Music Collection - Provides access to scholarly journals and magazines that support research in areas including drama, music, art history, and filmmaking. The database emphasizes full-text content for publications included in the Wilson Art Index and RILM bibliography.
  • The Bibliography of the History of Art (BHA) - Is the world's most comprehensive bibliography of scholarly writing about the history of western art.the database search includes both BHA (covering 1990-2007) and the International Bibliography of Art (IBA), covering the years 2008 and part of 2009. The Répertoire de la litterature de l'art (RILA), one of the predecessors of BHA, with records that cover 1975–1989, will be online by May 1, 2010.

Religion

  • Religion and Philosophy Collection - Provides access to scholarly journals and magazines of interest to both researchers and general users. The database offers balanced content that covers topics across a wide range of philosophies and religions.
  • ProQuest Religion Database - Religion Database provides a wide range of primarily full-text periodicals and other sources for diverse religious and spiritual studies, covering formal theological studies and commentary on topics of general interest from the perspectives of many worldwide religions. As well as scholarly journals there are many titles from religious publishing bodies and nondenominational organizations. The resource reflects a wide spectrum of religious belief systems and supports the global study of religion.

  • JSTOR Religion - Search within 142 journals associated with the subject: Religion. Note most publication dates will not be current. 

Education

  • ERIC - The Educational Resource Information Center, contains more than 1,194,000 records and links to more than 100,000 full-text documents from ERIC.
  • Education Research Complete - A bibliographic and full-text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing.
  • Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts - This database indexes more than 500 core journals, more than 50 priority journals, and 125 selective journals; plus books, research reports, and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management, and more. Coverage in the database extends as far back as the mid-1960s.
  • Professional Development Collection - Designed for professional educators, this database provides a highly specialized collection of 520 high quality education journals, including nearly 350 peer-reviewed titles.   • JSTOR Language and Literature - Developed with the help of the Modern Language Association, this collection includes PMLA and a range of core journals in the diverse fields of literary criticism that have emerged in the last thirty years.

Psychology

  • APA PsycINFO - From the American Psychological Association (APA), contains nearly 2.4 million citations and summaries of scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, and dissertations, all in psychology and related disciplines, dating as far back as the 1800s. 98% of the covered material is peer-reviewed. Journal coverage, which spans 1887 to the present, includes international material selected from more than 2,200 periodicals in more than 27 languages.
  • APA PsycARTICLES - From the American Psychological Association (APA), is a definitive source of full-text, peer-reviewed scholarly and scientific articles in psychology. The database contains more than 134,000 articles from 63 journals--50 published by the APA and its imprint, the Educational Publishing Foundation (EPF)-- and 13 from allied organizations. It includes all journal articles, book reviews, letters to the editor, and errata from each journal. Coverage spans 1894 to the present; nearly all APA journals go back to Volume 1, Issue 1.

  • C-SPAN Video Library - In addition to live coverage of House and Senate proceedings and local and general elections, C-SPAN Video Library streams government hearings, press conferences meetings of various political, media, and non-profit organizations; book discussions, and varied interviews.
  • The NewsHour (PBS) - Only segments that the NewsHour has the legal right to stream over the Internet are available. Archive includes programs broadcast after February 7, 2000.
  • NOVA (PBS) - "NOVA revolves around a simple premise: the world of science is exciting!" Note that most NOVA programs are not available for downloading due to rights restrictions.
