Post Baccalaureate Nursing FAQ

Please review this link before you view this FAQ Section - https://www.concordia-ny.edu/admission/undergraduate-admission/post-baccalureate-nursing to understand Nursing Admission Requirements.

 Q: Why Concordia’s Nursing Program?
A: Our classes are small and personal and you will learn from the best. Our most recent NCLEX pass rate is 100%.

Q: Can I apply to the program without some or all of the pre-requisites?
A: Yes, you can. Understand that all prerequisite grades must be completed and submitted prior to August 1st for Fall cohorts, and prior to December 1st for Spring cohorts. Fully qualified candidates will be admitted in the order their packets are reviewed and approved.

Q: Can I take my prerequisites online?
A: Yes, you can, as long as the online course is accredited, has a lab component attached to the lecture, and is passed with a grade C+ or better.

Q: How long are the pre-requisite courses valid for?
A: Please note that pre-requisite course grades are only valid for 5 years. Any class grade that is beyond five years will have to be repeated with a grade of C+ or better.

Q: If I receive a B- in my lecture and a C in lab (or vice versa), will it qualify as a prerequisite grade?
A: No. You are required to obtain a grade C+ or better in both lecture and lab for every prerequisite course.

Q: What is a TEAS exam and is it part of the admission process?
A: The ATI TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is designed specifically to assess a student's preparedness entering the health science fields. Candidates are required to take the TEAS exam and score level Proficient or better. You can choose a location and register for the TEAS at: https://atitesting.com/home. Kindly request for your scores to be sent to Concordia College New York. The TEAS must be completed within 12 months of the applicant’s proposed admission.

Q: How long is the program?
A: Each cohort lasts for 15 months (4 semesters). There are Fall and Spring cohorts available.

Q: What do you earn after completion of the program?
A: Students earn a Bachelor of Science Degree.

Q: Is this a full-time program?
A: Yes, it is a full-time day program.

Q: What does a typical schedule look like?
A: Classes are normally held between 8 AM and 7 PM Monday through Friday, and may include Saturdays.  Please note that clinicals can be held outside of this time frame.

Q: Can I work part-time or full-time during the program?
A: This is an accelerated rigorous program requiring your full commitment. We strongly discourage you from working and pursuing this degree simultaneously.

Q: What is the tuition?
