Psychologists seek to better understand, predict, and change the behavior of humans and animals through the scientific method. A psychology degree is valuable in a wide variety of fields, since virtually all careers involve understanding behavior.

Our Psychology Program teaches you:

  • The process, principles, and theories of psychology
  • How to perform research and formulate theories
  • The study of human developmental stages throughout life
  • Current therapy approaches used to treat mental health disorders
  • The biological mechanism affecting psychology
  • How the human mind learns, understands, and perceives the world
  • The skills and knowledge needed to pursue graduate study in psychology

Track options include:

Counseling Psychology
This is the most popular track at our college. Nationally, 60% of psychologists are counseling or clinical psychologists (Zimbardo, 2014.) This track will explore counseling in schools and clinical settings.

Health Psychology
This is a rapidly growing field that includes the study of psychosocial factors that contribute to promoting health and well being, and focuses on learning how to support the development of a healthy lifestyle. Potential careers include Life Coaching, Substance Abuse, Rehabilitation, Veterans Services, Public Education, Reiki and Nutrition.

Behavioral Psychology
This track is less specialized and can be customized to meet the needs of each individual. Therefore, it is ideal for students that are still exploring psychology and also those looking to attend graduate school in a variety of areas that could include Biopsychology, Animal Behavior, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Experimental Psychology and Behavior Modification.
