The

BRIDGE PROGRAM

Mentoring with a BIG Impact

Building the future together.

Our new Bridge Program connects students with alumni and friends of the College who are seeking to foster meaningful relationships and practical wisdom for students.

The mentoring relationship offers students the opportunity to discuss educational goals, broaden their professional network, receive career guidance, and learn from a mentor’s life experiences.  Alumni and Community members have the opportunity to help the next generation of Concordia graduates realize their Christ-centered vocations of grace, contemplation and action.

The Bridge Program

How does it

WORK?

Our Bridge Program is a year-long program that pairs current undergraduate students with alumni and friends of the College in a profession field related to their academic area of study or their career interest.  Selected students (in their Junior or Senior year) have been chosen because they are in good academic standing, possess strong interpersonal and communications skills, and are willing to learn, committed to professional development and available for monthly meetings.

Becoming a

MENTOR

Mentors provide support, guidance and advice to students as they make decisions related to their academic path, career preparation and professional networking.  Mentors can draw from their own experiences while in college, their career path and perspective on succeeding in a professional work place.  Mentors serve as role models and a sounding board providing students with practical advice and feedback.

It is the hope that each relationship will develop its own pattern.  Mentors are asked to commit at least 1-2 hours a month to connect with their mentee, ideally in person, in a professional environment.  As the relationship grows their might be a transition to email, phone calls and face-time contacts.
